Paris navigates delicate balancing act in Conakry

French authorities are worried about growing tensions in Guinea following the disappearance of two activists critical of Mamadi Doumbouya's junta. Paris is keen not to alienate the government, but wants to avoid appearing in the frontline for fear of the situation deteriorating as in the neighbouring Sahel.
