A Specialised Daily Publication
Every day, Africa Intelligence publishes exclusive information essential to understanding the local and regional challenges that the African continent faces today.
In April 2020, after nearly 40 years of reporting, Africa Intelligence became a daily publication to better reflect the rapid and complex developments taking place on the continent. With this change came the merging of our five long-standing newsletters—West Africa Newsletter, The Indian Ocean Newsletter, Maghreb Confidential, Africa Energy Intelligence and Africa Mining Intelligence—into one, pan-African publication.
A Pan-African Field of Inquiry
Our daily publication dives into the details of the developments in political, diplomatic and economic life in Africa. In each of these three spheres, Africa Intelligence tasks itself with identifying powerful figures who exercise their sway behind closed doors and outside of official channels, bringing to light their complex networks of connections.
Although we cover all strategic sectors on the African continent, we have a particular expertise in the oil and gas industry and the mining industry. We direct our attention to increasingly important strategic sectors across the African continent: electrical and transportation infrastructures, banking and finance and security and defence.
We shed light on emerging leaders as they gain in influence within their country's political spheres and trace the movements of powerful political figures, analysing the relationships between political bodies and business networks. We pinpoint the individuals involved in major contracts—be they prominent public figures or more discreet actors—and identify the makeup of their networks. We follow key developments in both local and regional political life, as well as in the geopolitical manoeuvrings of established powerhouses and emerging figures as they gain influence on the continent.
