Coup leader Damiba consults mining experts in bid for popular support

Many Burkinabés were disgruntled over the lack of transparency in the mining sector under President Kaboré and felt that the people benefitted little from the wealth it generates. The junta that overthrew Kaboré last month is hoping it can win some popular support by promising mining reform.
