Port Sudan seeks Russian combat aircraft to lead strikes against RSF

A few weeks before the military defeat in El Fasher, the SAF high command had launched consultations to acquire Sukhoi fighter jets. Since the fall of the Darfurian city, the objective has been to halt the advance of the Rapid Support Forces using long-range aircraft.

With the help of Turkey, the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) are gradually reestablishing power in the country's former capital, which is expected to receive several visits from European diplomats at the end of October. Air services are gradually resuming to the Sudanese coast, and soon to Khartoum.
