Doubts persist over Francophonie summit in November

A press conference should be held in late May or early June to reassure the Organisation internationale de la francophonie and francophone states intending to attend the summit slated for later this year. Preparations are underway, but not everyone is convinced that the event will go ahead.

Macron puts pressure on Saied, but Paris plays it safe in Brussels

A conversation between the French and Tunisian heads of state last week was frank. Macron told Saied he was concerned both by the economic crisis in Tunisia and by his counterpart's political choices. But within the EU, France remains much less critical than other member countries.
