Private banker Marc Kreiker and Gabonese presidential adviser Kim Oun have been appointed directors of two investment funds set up in Casablanca by the brother-in-law of Gabonese President Ali Bongo. Several offshore companies in Tangier could follow.

The Ugandan president and the country's French ambassor discussed last month the possibility of boosting their defence cooperation through the training of Uganda's mountain troops. These soldiers play an essential role in the fight against rebel groups in the east of DRC which are destabilising the region.
