In the upper echelons of the Ivorian state, rumours of the recording's existence have been doing the rounds for almost three years. Always referred to in hushed tones, the audio file has been having a second lease of life since mid-October, though no-one in the Abidjan's political bubble seems to have had access to it or to know exactly what it contains.
