After Sangomar, Grand Tortue Ahmeyim also delayed by BP and Kosmos

Production at the GTA cross-border gas field is likely to be pushed back from 2023 to early 2024. The Australian firm Woodside Energy also made similar changes for Senegal's Sangomar field.

In anticipation of the start of oil and gas production, scheduled respectively for 2023 and 2024, Senegal has embarked on a series of major works and reforms to take full advantage of this bonanza. These include expanding its refining capacities, converting its power plants to gas, and bringing its legal framework into line with current norms - complex undertakings, some of which could be subject to delays.
