The presence of the South African oil services firm in West Africa is currently limited to Ghana. The company's management wants to reverse this trend by targeting French-speaking Africa.

In anticipation of the start of oil and gas production, scheduled respectively for 2023 and 2024, Senegal has embarked on a series of major works and reforms to take full advantage of this bonanza. These include expanding its refining capacities, converting its power plants to gas, and bringing its legal framework into line with current norms - complex undertakings, some of which could be subject to delays.
