For more than twenty years, David Salama has been putting his talents as an offshore virtuoso at the service of African states and tycoons active on the continent.

It was only a brief mention among the 38,433 entries in the files prepared by an investigating magistrate ahead of the trial of French senator Jean-Noel Guérini and his brother Alexandre Guérini,against whom prosecutors recommended heavy sentences on 31 March in the Marseille criminal court handling the case: four years' imprisonment (with two suspended)
