Qatari shareholders nudge Accor into 5-star trajectory

In opening new luxury hotels in Morocco and Ivory Coast, Accor is clearly targeting the wealthiest segment of the African market. The hotel chain will be hoping that this strategy, which has coincided with the arrival of Qatari and Saudi shareholders, will help to replenish the coffers as Covid-19 travel restrictions continue to hamper its business.
