Paris and Djibouti set to renew defence deal amid regional turmoil

French Armed Forces Minister Florence Parly is due to travel to Djibouti on 21 November to discuss renewing the 10-year agreement that allows France to station troops there. Djibouti, which hosts seven foreign military contingents, is an island of stability in a region wracked by a coup in Sudan, the escalation of war in Ethiopia and political deadlock in Somalia.
