Following the deaths of at least 30 artisanal miners in November in a mine in Lualaba, MP Serge Chembo Nkonde has set up a committee of inquiry, which is expected to visit the site soon.

Ten months after the DRC imposed an embargo on cobalt exports, followed by the announcement of a quota system, mining operators are still waiting for the go-ahead to restart business.
