New York court battle over late star lawyer Emery Mukendi's legacy

The law firm Emery Mukendi has accused one of its partners, and creator of its website, of making free with the reputation of its late founder, a lawyer to the DRC government and numerous mining cases who succumbed to Covid-19 in 2020.

Terry Collingsworth, representing plaintiffs who accuse US tech firms of faciltiating child labour in mines, has accepted the arguments of Hogan Lovells, the law firm representing Alphabet, which state that as it is simply Google's parent company, it is not directly responsible for the activities of its subsidiary.
