Gécamines lets CNMC spend millions rather than respect local content rules

CNMC has signed a deal with Gécamines whereby the Chinese mining giant will fork out $5m to avoid having to hire a local firm for the construction of its copper and cobalt mine Kambove, as required by Congolese law.
