Liberia's president wants to restore his country's balance of power with the global steel giant ArcelorMittal. Mining magnate Robert Friedland is throwing his support behind George Weah with an ambitious project that would let his own iron be exported through the state from Guinea.

The man who once served as former French president Nicolas Sarkozy's diversity commissioner has quietly taken the helm of a major luxury property scheme in Marrakesh. This prompted the original developers of the beleaguered project to try to win back control through the courts in France and Morocco.
