Constructed on land donated by the Moroccan king Mohammed VI, a close friend of Ali Bongo, the palace of the Gabonese presidential family set in the palm grove of Marrakesh has taken ten years to complete and has been worked on by some of the most sought-after service providers in the kingdom.

By boosting the aerial surveillance capacities of Benin and Burkina Faso, Paris is hoping to increase its chances of countering a potential spread of Islamist operations to the border zone between the two countries and to the border region between Benin and Niger.
