Marathon debt cancellation talks under way ahead of summit season

The Paris summit on investing in Africa, which will largely focus on debt, and the World Bank and IMF spring meetings will take place in quick succession in the coming months. To prepare for these major gatherings, the IMF and G20 countries have started to tackle the thorny issue of debt reduction, a frequent source of disagreement with China.

Armoured vehicle manufacturers battle it out for Kenya Defence Forces' orders

As the Kenyan armed forces look to strengthen their capacities by acquiring more armoured vehicles, European rivals Excalibur and Mowag are taking a close interest in their plans to acquire 8x8 armoured combat vehicles, while Turkish companies are hoping to land orders for mine-resistant ambush-protected (MRAP) vehicles.
