Two French MPs compete for key post in Francophonie parliament

The position of secretary-general of the Assemblée parlementaire de la francophonie, traditionally held by a French MP, is being contested by Bruno Fuchs, Modem MP for Haut-Rhin who has strong networks in Africa, and Amélia Lakrafi, LREM MP for the 10th constituency of the French abroad.

Joe Biden will receive his South African counterpart at the White House on 16 September. High on their talks agenda will be boosting links between the two countries, as the battle of influence rages between the United States and Russia to win over South Africa.
