South Africa's MTN treads a fine diplomatic line to stay atop Nigerian telecoms market

Over the last two decades, MTN has succeeded in establishing itself as leader on the Nigerian mobile phone market despite the West African country's uneasy relations with the big South African companies. In last leg of long litigation, Levi's ordered to pay tax on royalties routed via Delaware

The Supreme Court has handed down a landmark judgement that will influence the country's tax authorities in their vast campaign against tax evasion. It ruled that Levi's Jeans must pay tax on part of its royalties transiting through Delaware and its sales commissions going through Singapore and Hong Kong.
