Gulf of Guinea pirates cause concern at the Pentagon as they take their operations onshore

The gangs, which already operate freely as they capture ships in the Gulf of Guinea in an area stretching from Nigeria to Equatorial Guinea and Gabon, are now increasingly carrying out onshore raids. The United States, which is worried that the phenomenon could get out of control, has sent a mission to the region.
