A former warlord and government minister, Roger Lumbala is accused of complicity in crimes against humanity committed in the early 2000s and is being held in France pending trial. Anglo American ordered to pay up in tax dispute

Veiled threats from Anglo American's management over future investments in the sector have not been enough. The mining giant, which is being sued by the Zimbabwean tax authorities for more than $24m in Unki platinum mine royalties, has seen the courts take the taxman's side and allow the seizure of its bank accounts.
