After the junta paid several million euros to French businessman Éric Léandri to equip Guinean special forces with cyber-surveillance equipment, the contract is now at a standstill and a source of tension between the different parties.

Severely weakened by the ongoing wave of protests, the Malagasy president is preparing to appoint his new PM, and has just settled on his new chief of staff. A highly active figure within African diaspora networks in France, she will be tasked with re-establishing contact with the country's youth that Rajoelina is scheduled to address on 8 October.
