New arbitration interferes with Sisi's desire to reopen mines to foreign investors

The Egyptian president is keen to reopen the country's mines, which have long been a state monopoly, to foreign investors. At the same time, mining developer Mohamed A.R. Bahgat, one of the first private operators to venture into Egypt's mining sector, has filed multiple legal actions against the Egyptian state, from which he is claiming $120m.
