Akufo-Addo spreads his diplomatic wings at the UN, ECOWAS and in Mali

As the serving ECOWAS president, Nana Akufo-Addo has been heavily involved in the series of crises which have affected the west African region over the last year or so. To handle the burning issues they have thrown up, as Ghana prepares to take up its seat on the UN Security Council, the Ghanaian head of state, himself a former foreign affairs minister, has been relying on a small group of loyal supporters and an extensive diplomatic network.
